The most sustainable piece of kitchenware is the one you don’t have to buy new. It might take a little work, but lots of old cookware can be touched up and last for years (cast iron is particularly resilient). Just be a little wary of old electrical appliances – if they’re significantly less efficient than a modern version, you might be better off buying new. Keep the cycle going and sell or give away cookware you never use yourself.
How do you reduce your carbon cookprint by buying secondhand?
